Branches and Areas of Work
The Research and Capacity Development Centre has organized its activities in the water supply, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector into seven branches, each with specific areas of responsibility, to achieve its objectives in research, innovation, and capacity development.
Research and Innovation Branch:
The Research and Innovation Branch focuses on the centre"s research projects and innovative initiatives. It identifies necessary research topics in the WASH sector, develops study frameworks and pilot project outlines, and conducts research in partnership with academic institutions or experts. This branch is also responsible for documenting research findings and promoting new technologies and successful practices.
Training and ISO Implementation Branch:
The Training and ISO Implementation Branch oversees the planning and execution of all training programs conducted by the centre. Its responsibilities include developing training curricula, scheduling sessions, managing trainers, and handling participant registration and management in line with ISO principles. This branch also prepares training materials, classrooms, and equipment, and conducts post-training impact assessments.
Information Technology Branch:
The IT Branch manages the centre"s IT infrastructure and digital services. It operates and maintains computer systems, internet connections, and audio-visual equipment used in training. The branch is responsible for developing and updating the centre"s website and online training platforms/databases, providing technical support for e-learning, and ensuring secure information flow and communication networks within the centre.
Hostel Management Branch:
The Hostel Management Branch oversees accommodation and hospitality services for training participants and visitors. It manages room allocations, cleanliness, meal arrangements, and general living facilities within the centre"s hostels. It ensures that the accommodation for approximately 60+ participants is fully operational with all necessary facilities (clean bedding, hot/cold water, dining services) and manages staff and guest housing on the campus.
Administration Branch:
The Administration Branch is responsible for the overall administrative management and coordination of the centre. It handles staff management, day-to-day operations, and ensures the implementation of institutional policies.
Accounts Branch:
The Accounts Branch ensures transparent and accountable management of the centre"s financial resources. Its duties include budget preparation, bookkeeping, maintaining financial records, and coordinating internal and external audits. Payroll, payments, and procurement-related financial processes are managed here, following government financial regulations.
Supplies (Logistics) Branch:
The Supplies Branch manages procurement and inventory of goods and services required by the centre. It is responsible for timely and compliant procurement of training materials, laboratory chemicals, office supplies, and all other essential items, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring maintenance and upkeep of the centre"s equipment and facilities.
